I think B makes more sense too. Why would you do #3, then go and install the new machine, rather than doing #3 and then #1. Makes more sense to prepare the source machine for export and then do the export.
The problem is, how is Checkpoint looking at this. Any other thoughts?

The answer is definitely D.
The testing of the target deployment is with relation to confirming the migrate import is successful and the SMS is ‘working’, i.e. cpd and fwm look ok.
You then connect it to the network, and disconnect the old one, to confirm connectivity (SIC) to the gateways etc.
