I’m sure the admin guide says the equation is “rule weight” / “total weight”… so if it is the only traffic, surely it’s 40/40 = 100%

i am not really sure about weight in QoS, but u say “total weight”, why are u not adding default rule weight?

Harri: the “total weight” is the sum total of all the *active* traffic. As there is currently NO traffic that matches the default rule, the total weight is currently 40+0 = 40%.

there are 2 rules 1 = 40 and 2 = 10, 40 + 10 = 50(total weigth) , so 40/50= 80%

as i know weight base Qos is realtime counting. so the answer should be 100% since there is no traffic other than HTTP.

Harri is correct. Reference page 32 of the QoS Admin Guide. Table 3-13. “It is important to note that the bandwidth allocation is constantly changing. Bandwidth is allocated among connections according to their relative weight. As the connection mix changes — as it does continuously as connections are opened and closed — QoS changes the bandwidth allocation in accordance with the QoS Policy, so that bandwidth is never wasted. For example, if the HTTP, FTP and TELNET connections are all closed, and the only remaining connection is the RealAudio connection, RealAudio will receive 100% of the bandwidth.”
