Interesting comments. Focusing on the question, the hint that stands out to me is disaster recovery and vsphere datacenter–notice they didn’t mention downtime mitigations. Thus the question is really looking for the best DR solution from VMware with the choices provided. Moreover DR as I take is separate DCs. Thus the best solutions for separate Datacenter from a DR perspective would be:
B: VMware SRM with Replication
D: VMware Data Protection for Exchange DAG
A: Not correct IMHO because it would make sense if they meant Fault Tolerance (FT) which doesn’t really live migrate and require a ton of bandwidth to maintain updated primary and standby VMs. Even at that, to use FT for all your VM connectivity to DR would not be practical.
C: This one is trick because it is technically correct but incorrect in the true premise of the question. What does “available resources” mean? It would be correct in terms of a host failure (HA) but even that does not qualify as a DR best practice as the whole site could go down.

Also, B is vSphere replication that is included. SRM is a licensable product.
Both VDP and vSphere replication are used for DR purposes not BC/HA.

Agreed and spot on! A is vMotion and will not help for disaster recovery. C is HA and … and well again only helps if a HOST fails not the entire site. vMotion and HA are availability fixes, not disaster recovery.
