One Comment on “Which two solutions require Raw Device Mapping using virtual compatibility mode?”
studyingsays:
C is correct as on pDRM (or Passtrhu RDMs) require SAN/Storage based initiated Snapshots
D deserves some explanation
vRDMs can be Svmotion online/offline ->
without conversion) pointer file moved to other VMFS, data remains on LUN
with conversion -> converted to vmdk
pDSMs
Online -> with conversion -> nothing happens
Online -> without conversion -> pointer file move
Offline -> with conversion -> Converts to a vmdk
Offline -> without conversion -> pointer file moved
A+B off course are outside of the VMware features set
