I believe it should be A and D. You have to have the functional level at or above 2003 but Azure AD Connect requires .Net 4.5.1 so I believe server 2012 gets you to 4.5 and a simple update would get you to 4.5.1.
This may be a malformed question though as I’ve seen the same question with the same answers just with AAD Sync instead of Azure AD Connect.
