    Active Directory Domain Controller – Echo Request (ICMPv4-In) makes a lot more sense to me. However when I try to research the answer, most sites say File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request -ICMPv4-In) needs to be enabled.

    What’s up with that?

      These are the rules that you are configuring on the DC, I feel you should allow Active Directory Domain Controller – Echo Request (ICMPv4-In) rule when the role is installed locally on DC1.
