A customer is interested in using Data Protection Adviser (DPA) for monitoring TimeFinder
replication on their Symmetric arrays. After discussing the Recoverability Analysis features within
DPA, they are interested in a proof of concept.
Which operating system and database requirements should be provided to the customer for the
DPA server?

A.
Linux server running Oracle or iAnywhere
B.
UNIX or Linux server running iAnywhere
C.
Windows server running Oracle
D.
Windows server running iAnywhere or SQL
This should be D.
ftp://ftp.legato.com/pub/eval/DPA/5.7/Docs/EMCDataProtectionAdvisor_InstallationGuide_57.pdf
Supported database versions are listed there. Linux server running oracle or iAnywhere is an option as well, D sounds like lowest hanging fruit though.
Oracle is supported on Solaris.

Answer is C.
A quote from the same document that “Some Guy” mentions:
“Recoverability analysis is only available for a DPA Server installed on a Windows or Solaris platform. It is not available for DPA servers installed on Red Hat or or SUSE Enterprise Linux.”.
Therefore A and B are out of the game. D is not right as iAnywhere database is mentioned in the answer. Only SQL and Oracle are supported for illuminator database (which Recoverability Analysis Engine is using).
