The Clone Private LUN contains the Fracture Log which allows for incremental
resynchronization of data. This reduces the time taken to resynchronize and allows
customers to better utilize clone functionality. The term extent mentioned in the previous
slide and above is the granularity at which changes are tracked. This granularity depends
on the size of the source LUN. The extent size is 1 block for each GB of source LUN size,
with a minimum size of 128 kB. This means that up to a source LUN size of 256 GB, the
extent size will be 128 kB. A source LUN of 512 GB will therefore have an extent size of 512
GB = 256 KB.
