   With Enginuity 5875, the maximum number of Snap sessions from a single source device is 14. This is because 2 sessions are now reserved for restore operations.

   The “default” maximum number should be 15 – if we consider it with Enginuity 5876.
   The absolute maximum would be 128 when enabling the SYMCLI environment variable

   14 is only correct if 5875 is mentioned!

   Note that starting with Enginuity 5875 the maximum number of Snap sessions from a single source device is 14. This is because 2 sessions are now reserved for restore operations.

   This question is not as straight forward as it seems. Based on the options here 128 is correct provided muti-virtual snaps is enabled otherwise 8 snaps is the maximum. Having said that VMAX 40k multi-virtual snaps is always enabled so it supports 128 snaps. This then implies that for the VMAX20k mullti-virtual snaps may/may not be enabled. the question does not say. so i assume its on.

   The default maximum number of Snaps is 16. If a restore from a Snap is planned, one session is reserved for the restore session. This reduces the default maximum number of Snaps to 15.
   Note that with Enginuity 5875 the maximum number of Snap sessions from a single source device is 14. This is because 2 sessions are now reserved for restore operations.

   Setting the following SYMCLI environment variable: SYMCLI_MULTI_VIRTUAL_SNAP = ENABLED, increases the maximum number of Snap sessions to 128. Normal Snap and Multi-virtual snap sessions cannot be combined. Also regardless of the number of multi-virtual snaps, the source device for these is charged only ONE session.
