What could have caused this to happen?

A VNX customer has several users on their CIFS share, which is also used for
dedupe/compression. In addition, replication is in place with checkpoints on both ends to
handle backup needs.
Since dedup was activated a few days ago, all changed blocks that the dedupe process
flags to eliminate from the primary FS get copied into the SavVol. Now, deduplication has
been aborted.
