What could have caused this to happen?
A VNX customer has several users on their CIFS share, which is also used for
dedupe/compression. In addition, replication is in place with checkpoints on both ends to
handle backup needs.
Since dedup was activated a few days ago, all changed blocks that the dedupe process
flags to eliminate from the primary FS get copied into the SavVol. Now, deduplication has
been aborted.

Which drive and RAID protection should they use for the legacy application?
Your customer has a single threaded legacy application with a sequential write workload.
They are currently performing a storage technology refresh. They ask you to architect a
solution using VNX systems configured with NL-SAS, SAS and Flash drives.

What advice would you give your customer to help them formulate their new environment and minimize their admin
A VMware v4 customer is considering consolidation of their environment to support their
cloud IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service) initiative on VNX storage. They have a number of
customers interested in deploying clustered application servers, across many varied
application environments, onto this new infrastructure.
What advice would you give your customer to help them formulate their new environment
and minimize their administrative overhead?
What should be EMC’s response to the customer?
A customer is planning to virtualize their current production Oracle environment. To obtain
advice, they hired EMC Application Virtualization Assessment for Oracle. After assessing the
environment, EMC found that the databases consist of large, single server databases with
high utilization, and a small number of application servers with high utilization. What should
be EMC’s response to the customer?

Which best practice should be followed to increase performance and reduce the meta data activity on the VMFS v
Exchange 2010 is being virtualized on a VNX storage array in a VMware environment.
Array-based replicas will be used to provide data protection.
Which best practice should be followed to increase performance and reduce the meta data
activity on the VMFS volume?
One of the stakeholders inquires about vNUM
You are in a design session with a customer of an ESXi 5.0 cluster. One of the stakeholders
inquires about vNUMA.
By default, what is the minimum number of CPUs in a vNUMA enabled environment?
What would you recommend to minimize performance impact?
A VNX for File administrator using SnapSure has created a recurring monthly cycle of
Checkpoints. The administrator has been tasked with changing this to a weekly cycle by
deleting a number of checkpoints.
What would you recommend to minimize performance impact?
which design would you recommend?
Your customer has a VNX array with FAST Cache licensed with a single storage pool
created.
They currently use the Storage Pool for their general production environment, but would like
you to design an environment that will support their Exchange 2010 deployment. There is
sufficient free space in the Storage Pool to accommodate their Exchange storage
requirements.
Based on EMC best practice guidelines, which design would you recommend?
