“Implement a cipher key lock” would be inexpensive and would only require minor reconstruction, but does it satisfy the scenario’s requirement of tracking people who access the room? My understanding is that its only a different method to lock the door; one 5-digit combination is programmed to unlock the door. Presumably, the same people who were issued keys would be issued the combination. There’s no logging system to record who unlocked the door.

I agree… if Jane “wishes to track people who access the secured server”, the cipher lock won’t let her know WHO goes in. But the closed circuit tv would. Wish I had more to contribute…
