I think it should be D. (Select ‘Update Machines’ on the Machine Catalog) because it seems like they are talking about MCS (master target device), not PVS to me. And promoting a version should only happen in PVS.

MCS does not use master target devices or direct updating of vDisks. This question is 100% for sure about PVS.
