    Tail Drop, Random Early Detection, RED and Weighted Random Early Detection are all mechanisms Network Schedulers using for congestion-avoidance or congestion-management. However the one that will cause TCP global synchronization is Tail Drop, and that was why RED came on board to correct, with an improvement with WRED.

    So which is the best, perhaps WRED, but Tail drop is the easiest technique to limit queue size but it causes TCP global synchronisation.
