How do I enable low bandwidth replication on my HP StorageWorks D2D Backup Systems?
The HP StorageWorks D2D Backup Systems are available with replication which may be
licensed by target.
HP
D2D2503 and D2D4000 Backup System products purchased prior to May 2009 may also
use the replication feature, but will require the latest version of firmware before purchasing a
replication license.
The latest firmware can be obtained via a free firmware upgrade, and is available from the
“support for your product” link on http://www.hp.com/go/d2d or from the “software drivers
and downloads” page on the HP

A license key is required to enable an appliance to host replication target libraries. (No
license is required for appliances which only act as replication sources)Licensing is “per target appliance” that is a single license is required to enable an appliance
to host as many replication target libraries as it is capable of supporting. The D2D2500 may
host up to 8 replication target libraries, D2D4000 may host up to 16 replication target
libraries and the D2D4112 may host up to 24 replication target libraries).
Licenses are delivered via www.webware.hp.com and are node-locked by appliance serial
number (and are not transferable)
Once a license has been obtained, configuring and using replication is simple by the
graphical user interface and configuration wizard on the HP D2D appliance.
