Documentation indeed has this wording about “data loss” but what data loss does it refer to ? It’s just plain stupid… The whole reason of using Auto-Deploy is to reproduce a proper boot sequence and load the O/S regardless of state of the local storage (direct attached) and/or SAN.
However, due to such a dependency of the Auto-Deploy infrastructure, it should be redundant that includes such components as DHCP and TFTP servers.
Semantics aside (“Auto Deploy servers” = “DHCP, TFTP, “), this makes ‘C’ a much more logical choice than ‘A’. But I guess folks at VMware Education in their infinite wisdom want us to pick “It helps prevent data loss” idiotic response.
