GPT disks on the other hand can have upto 128 primary partitions!

If using Disk Management to create additional partitions, 1 additional primary can be created. Attempting to create another partition will cause Windows to create an extended partition and logical drive.
To create 4 primary partitions on an MBR drive, you would have to use diskpart. Select the disk you wish to create the 4x primary partitions on (select disk x), and run the diskpart command “create partition primary size=x”. This will force the creation of a primary partition up until the max MBR supports (4 pri OR 3 pri + 1 ext).
