Incompatible devices wont be able to be installed

    Installation sequence doesn’t matter

Nothing in the question states whether or not the server was turned off.

Not following ESD procedures can course devices to short circuit.

Sorry Shirley, Incompatible devices CAN be installed. This is typically dependent on AGE of the systems. Older 1st Gen SATA controllers do not recognize SATA 3, MAC parts from the 1st Gen of Intel based MAC were not compatible with PC, and SATA and SAS can be interchanged depending on the physical adapter type – SAS controllers even have support for SATA, though not the reverse.
