I’m really not sure why on this. Yes, this is the answer in multiple sets of exam questions, but I’m just not finding the official word on this.

Only thing I can think of to support “D” (hair-pinning) is that NSX will keep a lot of the traffic internal to the software defined networking within NSX…so traffic never really leaves the host in many cases, and calls for proper routing information isn’t going out to the physical device – as NSX is handling it via DLR.
While configuring an infinite number of firewall policies and configurations for L3 switching is troublesome, it’s really not impossible.
Guess I answered my own question although I’m open to other suggestions.
