Wrong, You already administer the database, therefore the database engine is already installed, you only need to install reporting services – SharePoint and Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint products.

It states in the question that you’re installing the powerview components on a standalone server. PowerView requires SSRS and powerpivot or tabular as a source (at least when 2012 was originally released). SSRS requires the RDBMS. Thus:
Database and powerpivot (repository for SSRS and sources for PowerView)
Install Reporting Server
Configure Reporting Server add-in in SharePoint mode

It seems that you need to install engine and reporting service simultanously or the engine before the reporting service. the the first to answers should be switched here.
