You are employed as a network administrator at contoso.com.
contoso.com has a single Active Directory domain named contoso.com.
All servers on the Contoso.com network have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed.
Contoso.com has two servers, named server1 and server2 which are configured in a two-node fail over cluster.
You are currently configuration the quorum settings for the cluster.
You want to make use of a quorum mode that allows each node to vote if it is available and in communication.
Which of the following is the mode you should use?

A.
Node Majority
B.
Node and Disk Majority
C.
Node and File Share Majority
D.
No Majority:Disk Only
Explanation:
A)
Allows each node to vote
B)
Allows each node and a disk witness to vote
C)
Allows each node and a File share witness to vote
D)
Allows one node with a specified disk to have quorum

How, with 2 nodes, can you get a node majority if you lose one?
I think the answer is ‘D’

concur with D response since the question states “available and in communication”. The confusion (and why this question is not a good question) is that communication with “what” is not clearly specified. If additional details were included, then a more appropriate selection could be the clear choice. In the given scenario, 2 nodes without the specification of an external disk or file share witness, my choice is no majority: disk only. “Disk only” refers to a specific disk in the cluster storage and thus makes no assumptions of any other resources outside the cluster to ensure quorum.

I believe the answer is B.
In most cases with an even number of nodes, this is the normal manual configuration.
I don’t think anything in the question points to an unusual situation.

Correct Answers: B & C
Best Answer: B (as you may not have a file share available to both servers)
A is ruled out as there are only 2 servers. If one server goes down there can be no majority.
D is ruled out, because You want to make use of a quorum mode that allows each node to vote if it is available and in communication.
