You administer the virtual environment for Contoso, Ltd. All of the virtual machines are set to use the Basic
virtual machine tier and are located in the West US region. The storage account used for the virtual machines
is set to Locally Redundant replication. The virtual machines are in an availability set.
You plan to deploy several web apps in Azure that will retrieve data from the virtual machines. The web apps
will use a new App Service plan.
You need to ensure that the web apps remain available if the hardware in data center fails. The solution must
minimize the Azure costs associated with bandwidth utilization. What should you include in the solution?

A.
Create a new storage account that is set to Geo-Redundant replication. Move the virtual machines to the
new storage account. Set the App Service for the web apps to use the default app service.
B.
Set the App Service plan for the web apps to any region other than West US region.
C.
Create a new storage account that is set to Zone Redundant replication. Move the virtual machines to the
new storage account. Set the App Service plan for the web apps to use the default app service.
D.
Set the App Service plan for the web apps to use the default app service. Configure ExpressRoute for the
Azure subscription.
I think the answer is C.
Datacenter failure. Not Region Failure. Minimize BW costs

“Note that ZRS is only available for block blobs in general-purpose storage accounts.”
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-introduction
” ZRS currently only supports block blobs”

This was true. But not as of January 2018.
Check it out in the Calculator. You need to select East US 2

Oh wait it says West US. So I think guess the answer is still A as VMs use page blobs.

who said anything about page blobs? Seems the data is being stored on VMs which are block blobs.
I think C, but I’m not 100% sure. Thoughts?

I think C…
a). web apps remain available if the hardware in data centre fails
b). minimize the Azure costs associated with bandwidth utilization
Zone Redundant Storage (ZRS)
3 copies across multiple datacentres within a region
*Some datacentres may replicate across regions
This covers both requirements

Its A with Geo. ZRS Is not even available in the West region.
ZRS is currently available for preview in the following regions, with more regions coming soon:
US East 2
US Central
France Central
and
ZRS Classic accounts are planned for deprecation and required migration on March 31, 2021. Microsoft will send more details to ZRS Classic customers prior to deprecation.
