The Key Distribution Center (KDS) of Kerberos has a Authentication Server (AS) and a Ticket-Granting Service (TGS). Client logs in and request sent to AS including hash of UN and PW. AS compares UN and PW to own hash and stores it. If it matches AS send Ticket-Granting Ticket (TGT) and timestamp. Client sends timestamped TGT to TGS. TGS sends timestamped service ticket (token/access token) back to client. This token can now be used by the client to access any resource in the entire domain
