I guess you are supposed to assume the ospf peering is actually up between r1 and r3. D and E could also be correct, R2 wouldn’t have the routes if the peering wasn’t working between r2 and r3. another poorly worded question. It should have stated the peering was up,

I agree. The question is testing one’s route redistribution knowledge. so it is safe to assume that before redistribution, both RIPv2 routing and OSPF routing were working.
