while i understand the intention of this question it irritates me none-the-less.
PPP is a protocol, not a connectivity method for a WAN… Moreover it’s a protocol for how to carry packets on top of whatever method you pick.
Ethernet is a popular choice for WAN links rather then buying serial based connections. Regardless of how it’s carried in the telco’s network… just as it is when you buy MPLS or any other type… the actual method carrying the packet after your handoff is irrelevant to the conversation.
I won’t even go down the path bringing up PPPoE.
I believe the answers… PPP and DSL…are what will get you a pass on this question. but i feel the question is flawed or at a minimum worded very poorly.
