Out-of-band management
iLO uses out-of-band management for remote management in the absence of an Ethernet local area network (LAN) connection. You can use a modem gateway or a remote access server (RAS) login into the local LAN to enable out-of-band (dial-up) access to the host server. Using this solution at the remote site, multiple servers would require only one telephone line to access all iLO devices installed at that site. The modem gateway handles the dial-up telephone line on one side and the Ethernet LAN on the other side.
You dial in to the modem gateway and direct access to the specific iLO using
the iLO’s network address.
