    1. Alessio says:

      The correct answer is C.

vCenter Server cannot be installled on a domain controller. vCenter Server can be installled on a member server. By default, all users who are members of the local Windows Administrators group on Windows Server are granted the same access rights as any user assigned to the Administrator role. Because the Domains Admins group is a member of a local Administrators group, this means that Domain Admins group is also given the Administrator role in vCenter Server.

It’s true that users who are in the Active Directory group ESX Admins are automatically assigned the Administrator role, but
      the question says “during installation”.

The official reference that confirms C is here:

    http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-51/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.install.doc%2FGUID-F6816E3B-7745-4762-8994-45242E752ED5.html

Though the question is poorly worded in the example, the meaning is that Windows Administrators group on the Local machine gets admin rights over Vcenter, in a default installation of vCenter 5.1.

vCenter 5.0 was identical to this default 5.1 scenario, just without the option to specify another group.

When you add an ESXi host to Active Directory all user and group accounts are assigned full administrative access to the host if the group ESX Admins exists. If you do not want to make full administrative access available, see VMware Knowledge Base article 1025569 for a workaround.
