      You could be right. This is another ambiguous question (there are plenty of them)

      The requirement is “•ESXi 5.0 requires a host machine with at least two cores”. The question however is what MIGHT cause a problem. So if the CPU has a single core, the upgrade will fail.

      Although C is correct (ESXi 3.5 is not supported for direct upgrade), one could upgrade to 4.x first and then to 5.

      So it’s up to whether the admin is trying to perform a direct upgrade or not …
