Paul Milnesays:
Encryption is also a valid answer using a technique known as cryptoerase. Maybe even more so that degaussing which has the potential to leave some data remanence if the degaussing is not coercive enough.

The “spirit” of the question is asking which of the following, given at their face value, is an effective solution. Looking from the perspective of a manager the only answer that is effective is Degausing.

encryption would mean encrpting a drive using symmetric cryptography. If the question woud have specifically said cryptoerase then you might have been correct but at face value degaussing is the correct answer.
